At every Knights of Columbus Council and Assembly meeting we say the Pledge of Allegiance.
But do we really understand what we say and what it really means.
My received a Red Skelton DVD for my birthday last year and it had Red Skelton saying
"the Pledge of Allegiance"
as it had been explained to him by a teacher. Red Skelton was and still is loved and remembered by many.
I can still hear him say "Good Night and God Bless" as his show ended. I will remember him always for that. Today he would be told that he was not politically correct and be in court protecting his right to free speech. That is if he were allowed to say it by the show producers. I searched the internet to find his recording of the "Pledge" so that I could download the recording and I felt that it was appropriate to add it here to our website. I hope you don't feel that these are ramblings, but hope that you click on the link below to here and read along with "Red".

It was first introduced on the Red Skelton Show January 14, 1969.
It has been read into the
Congressional Record of the United States
and has received numerous awards. Enjoy.
